New Year's Resolution: The Ultimate Crafter's Workout!

Happy New Years everyone! Have you made your resolutions yet? If it involves fitness, then you're not alone! We craft girls have all resolved to get fighting fit in time for the June Scrapbook & Papercraft Convention. If you've attended before then you'll know you need some stamina to power walk down the aisles carting your full bags with you!

If you want to get fit with us, don't bother paying for a pricey gym membership! Just come along to our store and try our Ultimate Crafter's Workout.

Warm-up
  • Reach up high and grab a Sizzlet die. Hold for sixty seconds. Place die in basket. Repeat.
  • Bend down low, grab a Bigz XL and place it on the ground. Bend to touch it and hold for sixty seconds. Place die in basket. Repeat.
  • Place three Bigz dies in each hand. Stretch your arms as far as you can, holding the dies. Hold for sixty seconds. Place dies in basket.
Bicep Curls
  •  Pick up your full basket in one hand, and a Sizzix bigshot in the other hand. Hold at your side.
  • Lift the basket toward the shoulder, rotating the arm upwards until your elbow is pointing to the ground.
  • Lower back down to your side.
  • Repeat with the Sizzix to complete one set.
  • Try ten reps per arm while walking to the punch section.
Arm Resistance Training
  • Punch a Mega Punch using the Punch Aid.
  • Repeat six times, then switch arms.
  • When this becomes too easy, remove the Punch Aid.
  • Finally, work your way up to cranking the Sizzix machine. Crank three Bigz XL dies through per arm.
Squats
  • Work your way down the aisles, stopping at each paper stand.
  • At each stand, squat down to inspect the papers at the bottom of the stand.
  • Hold for ten seconds and stand up slowly.
  • Move on to the next stand.
Lunges
  • Fill up a second basket with beading books. Hold a basket in each hand.
  • Walk up and down the beading aisles, lunging with each step.  Keep your upper body straight, step forward with one leg and lower your hips until your knees are bent at 90-degree angles.
  • Once you have finished, repeat down the scrapbooking aisle.
Stairwork
  • Buy a Cricut machine at the checkout.
  • Hold the Cricut while walking down the stairs to the carpark.
  • When you reach the bottom, turn around and walk back up the stairs to purchase some Cricut cartridges
  • Repeat as needed.
Cool-down
  • Take a break and enjoy a low-fat skinnychino and a lemon, lime and macadamia gluten-free biscuit in our cafe.
Repeat these exercises daily, and we'll all be looking amazing by June!
